How much better your life will be

Excerpts from João's E-mail to his father of April 20, 2009

Thank you for the wonderful e-mail. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer some of my questions. I miss our long conversations. More are to come I'm sure. New York is weeping today...or in other words, raining terribly.

The zone provided us with good New York Pizza for lunch, and then a group of us Brooklynite Elders went to Prospect Park for some exercise. Tonight, Elder Redden and I will be hosting a Family home Evening for the ward at our Chapel. The ward and the missionaries coordinate this every month to help members invite their friends to come to church. I wish that more would take advantage of this idea. Nonetheless we are expecting some families and single adults to come.

I feel like our work has been succesfull. We are weekly finding an average of 6 investigators and teaching plenty. We are hoping that those commited to be baptized will follow-up on their goal. Lately as a companionship we have been working on committing more people. We have also realized that commiting is a two-part principle. The invitation and the follow-up. For the commitment to become effective, there needs be planning.

There is a lot to learn and a lot to improve on. The zone-leaders are good source of inspiration and guidance. One of the Zone leaders Elder Hadley, will be finishing up this transfer. He's become a good friend. Our transfers will end this May 12.

Love you Dad!
